A RESOULUTION ESTABLISHING PERMIT AND INSPECTION PROCEDURES FOR THE SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM OF THE OAKLAWN IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, SEDGWICK COUNTY, KANSAS: REGULATING DISCHARGE OF CERTAIN TYPES OF WATER INTO THE SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM: AND ESTBLISHING INSTPECTION AND CORRECTION PROCEDURES WITHIN THE OAKLAWN IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, SEDGWICK COUNTY, KANSAS.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE OAKLAWN IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, SEDGWICK COUNTY, KANSAS AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1: Discharge:

No person shall either directly or indirectly discharge into the Sanitary Sewer System of the Oaklawn Improvement District, Sedgwick County, Kansas, any substance the discharge of which goes into the City of Wichita Sewer System is prohibited by Title 16 of the Code of the City of Wichita, Kansas, as amended for time to time.

Section 2: Permits Required:

Before beginning work to maintain, repair, replace, seal off or reconnect any existing connection or connect any new connection to the Oaklawn Improvement District’s Sanitary Sewer System, a Permit must be obtained for the Oaklawn Improvement District, at 2937 Oaklawn Drive, Wichita, KS 67216. All applicants must pay a non-refundable Permit application fee of $30.00 at the time of application. You will only need the permit if the work is connected to the Oaklawn Improvement District main line.

Upon approval of a Permit application by the Oaklawn Improvement District, applicant shall complete all new connections authorized by the Permit within one hundred eighty days of Permit issuance. All work under Permits to maintain, repair, replace, seal off or reconnect any existing Connection to the Oaklawn Improvement District’s Sanitary Sewer System shall be started at once and completed with in two weeks from the date of Permit issuance unless an extension is granted by the Oaklawn Improvement District. Unless such conditions are met, any Permit issued hereunder shall be canceled and all fees forfeited. All permits issued by the Oaklawn Improvement District shall not be transfer able by any application. Permit shall be obtained as provided within this Resolution and failure or unreasonable delaying in obtaining a permit shall mandate a double permit fee.

Section 3: Inspection:

Prior to covering up any work maintaining, repairing, replacing, sealing off or reconnection any existing connection or connecting any new connection to the Oaklawn Improvement District’s Sanitary Sewer System, a representative of the Oaklawn Improvement District must approve the work. Any such work not approved by the Oaklawn Improvement District’s representative must be re-done and approved by the Oaklawn Improvement District’s representative prior to being covered up. Any representative of the Oaklawn Improvement District shall have to right and privilege to enter upon any property connected, or to be connected, to the Oaklawn Improvement District’s Sanitary Sewer System, within reasonable hours, for the purpose of making inspections for the enforcement of this Resolution.

There shall be an inspection fee of $6.00 to be obtained at the time of the permit.

Section 4: Notice:

Upon discovery of a violation of the provisions of this Resolution, the Oaklawn Improvement District shall serve note to Sedgwick County Code.

Section 5: Effective Date:

This Resolution shall take effect from and after its passage by the Oaklawn Improvement District Board of Directors of the Oaklawn Improvement District and upon its publication by posting in the office of the Oaklawn Improvement District.
